History of Boston

Boston is one of the famous cities of United states. The city is renowned for some spectacular tourist destinations. Boston is also the capital city of United states. Boston has a very rich history and culture. The history of Boston states that the city's culture has been strongly influenced by many immigrants to the city. Boston was founded by Puritan colonist from England on September 17, 1630. According to the history of Boston the first English immigrant settled in Boston was Reverend William Blackstone in 1629.

After 1630, for the next two centuries Boston become the center for Puritan life. Soon after its establishment the city become center for education and center.

Since it establishment the city continued to grow. In the 18th century the city witnessed numerous settlements grew in the Boston. And during this period trade increased many new mills were built along the rivers for the forging of iron,logging, etc. the dramatic history of Boston made the farmers and fishermen of the city more rich.

Many major events happened in the history of Boston like the popular 1765 Stamp Act, Townshend Acts of 1767 and these acts led to the popular Boston Massacre in 1770. One of the famous historical events in Boston was the “Boston Tea Party” which was the result of the Tea act of 1773. After all dramatic events in the history of Boston, the city started prospering in the beginning of 19th century. The city suffered many battles like Battle of Bunker Hill, Siege of Boston, Battle of Lexington, etc. After these battles the city started growing very fast and eventually become one of the world's best international trading ports.

Boston suffered great depression with the outbreak of World War II. During this period the city was the major center for arms manufacturing. After the war the city regained its strength and started developing. Today the city is one of the well known cities for business and tourism.
